Tui Na Centre – Rozman Method© in-person training for parents

RM© One Day Group Training for Parents

Full One-Day Training Courses are open for all parents of children with special needs as well as occupational therapists, massage therapists, speech and language therapists and other support workers. The aim of the course is to give attendees the practical skills and confidence to enable them to apply the massage themselves.

By attending a full one-day training course you will gain both an in-depth understanding of the RM© as a unique therapy for children , as well as gain “hands on“ knowledge of this technique.

Course structure

Our one-day courses are structured as follows: at the start of the day the trainees are introduced to the principles of RM© and the theory behind it. We then move on to the practical part of the course, learning and practicing all 28 (autism and down syndrome) steps of the massage. One-day Rozman Method CP© training course for cerebral palsy consists of 36 steps and includes joint manipulations in addition to the core 28 steps.

Techniques on both courses are demonstrated by Leonid in blocks of six steps. Following each such demonstration participants practice the set of steps in pairs, regularly swapping places so that both partners can take part and learn. The main focus of the course is on practising the steps.

what we ask from you

The course is intensive but delivered in a fun learning environment. A commitment by yourself to learn, practice and apply the massage techniques at home will ensure a rewarding experience and will help to achieve a stronger bond between you and your child through simple touch. Massage not only benefits the person receiving the massage but can greatly improve your own stress and anxiety levels. Learning the appropriate techniques and applying the daily massage yourself can become a convenient (you choose when and for how long the apply the massage), cost effective and potentially beneficial way of spending quality time with your child.

During the course we will also discuss common difficulties you might encounter during the first days of applying the massage at home, and explain how to best overcome potential hurdles.

personalised approach to meet the individual needs

As part of the training day parents will also be given opportunities for individual discussions with the trainers, in order to best tailor the massage to their child’s specific individual needs. Children with special needs are often either hyper-sensitive or hypo-sensitive to touch, and some children can even be both hyper- or hyposensitive depending on which part of their body is being massaged. Hypo-sensitive children are generally under responsive to touch and the techniques should be performed with deeper pressure, compared to those children who are overly sensitive. The appropriate types of pressure will be discussed and demonstrated during the course in great detail.

Following the completion of the Tui Na Centre – Rozman Method© training course all attendees will receive an attendance certificate, access to online training videos, and a written instruction guide for future reference.

‘Introduction to Tui Na Centre – Rozman Method©’ half-day presentation & workshop

Tui Na Centre – Rozman Centre© is actively looking for ways to connect with the community of parents of children with special needs and to establish and strengthen links with professional therapists’ bodies and organisations.

We are happy to deliver on request a short introductory presentation workshop to explain and demonstrate the principles and applications of RM©. Attendees get to learn about the RM© history and aims, and about the basic principles of the Traditional Chinese Medicine system of balancing the body and achieving internal healing by stimulating various acupuncture/acupressure points and balancing the flow of energy.
